27th Stowe Fall Arts Festival - Stowe always celebrates Vermont’s Foliage season with an exclamation point and that exclamation point is The Stowe Foliage Art and Craft Festival. Nestled between the mountains and the resplendent foliage, the white Camelot tents make for a perfect setting for an event. 57th Stowe Antique & Classic Car Meet - Rain or Shine the Show goes on!! Over 800 antique & classic cars on display. Food concessions, giant automotive Flea Market, car corral. Saturday’s Fashion judging contest, antique car parade through town. Stowe, Vermont has hosted the Vermont Automobile Enthusiasts, Inc. Antique and Classic Car Meet for more than 50 years, and there’s a reason why thousands of classic car aficionados return year after year.

* Join us Saturday, August 8th infront of the Akeley Memorial Building (Main Street) from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. for a Village Street Dance. DJ, food, drinks and fun for the entire family! Times: 7:00 p.m.- 9:00p.m.

Music Festival of the Americas -
On August 20th, come and enjoy an intimate musical degustation. Featuring the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas Chamber Ensembles performing works by Villa-Lobos, Piazzola, Ravel and jazz on a theme by Vivaldi. The very next night, listen to Music and Arias from Carmen, La Traviata and La Boheme. Featuring rising stars from the Washington National Opera Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program. And on the last night, enjoy the grand finale, featuring dance-inspired music from Argentina, Mexico and Russia. Featuring Astor Piazzola's Tangazo, Danzon No. 2 by Arturo Marquez and Tchaikovsky's glorious Fifth Symphony.

Race (run/bike) to the top of Mt Mansfield
Second annual after a successful debut event last summer, they (FJG) will continue to make this one of Vermont's premier running and mountain bike races. Take the Catamount Challenge by racing to the top of Mt Mansfield with 800 other like-minded athletes. We will even have a non-competitive class for those participants who wish to walk to the top of VT. Participants will receive a tech shirt, a CTA Guidebook, post race BBQ, be eligible for a large raffle, and awards to the top 3 in each ten-year age group. This year the Catamount Trail Association will team up with Mobius, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to growing a culture of mentoring in our communities and finding caring adults to mentor children.

" - Blackstone was hired as an independent group to analyze assets and prepare value assessments. - Created a 130 page "Sales Kit" which interested parties had to qualify to look at. - 19 groups initially asked for the information and submitted bids.- Of the 19, 3 were accepted into the next round.- Those 3 groups were given access to the Data Room at AIG for more info. - Site tours to meet management included: - Dinners at Kirkwoods - Tour of SML -Meetings and meals at the Inn - All were impressed with our knowledge of and appreciation for our resort and its guests - Still may see one more group which initially did not make the cut. - 2 week period for these finalists to submit a final bid and proof to support that bid. - Probably won't see anything finalized until the end of the year." * 3rd party reliable source :-)

Outdoor Music at the Trapp Family Meadow
-> Vermont Symphony Orchestra - In celebration of Lake Champlain's Quadricentennial, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra will present a salute to Uncle Sam--Vermont's own Uncle Sam that is, Samuel de Champlain, who discovered our bordering-on-great lake in 1609. The VSO pays tribute to our Frenchman in America with Gershwin's "An American in Paris" and a program both Gallic and aquatic: an overture by Berlioz, a medley from Les Misérables, Sousa's Hands Across the Sea March, Handel's Water Music, and show tunes from South Pacific. 5th Taste of Stowe Arts Festival - Thanks to the combined efforts of the Helen Day Art Center, The Taste of Stowe Arts Festival is evolving into a major tour de force. In 2008 it gained recognition as one of the Top Ten Summer Events in Vermont. Even greater gains are forecast for 2009. - The Stowe Culinary Festival will be included into the 2009 Taste of Stowe Arts Festival. The Taste of Stowe Arts Festival is a celebration of many Arts: culinary, painting, photography, sculpture, and a full range of contemporary and traditional crafts. June 6 Geo cache hunt @ Stowe Mt Resort

"Hunt 4 The Golden Goggles Geo Cache - Find the GOLDEN GOGGLES hidden throughout the resort at various locations. June 13 & 14 NOMAD dog agility trials

The United States Dog Agility Association sanctions this annual dog agility trial in Stowe, at the Trapp Family Lodge. The public is invited to come watch dogs and handlers compete for titles in the sport of dog agility, where handlers must lead their dogs through a course consisting of tunnels and chutes, jumps, weave poles, dog walks, A-frames, and teeters. Trials run outdoors all day, Saturday and Sunday. The hosting club for the trial is the Vermont-based Northern Magic Agility Dogs (NOMAD) - for more info:   www.nomadagility.com

June 25/28 Joe Kirkwood Golf Tourney

This year marks the 42nd annual Joe Kirkwood Memorial Tournament which will be held June 25–28, 2009. Joe Kirkwood was a world-renowned golfer who is credited for “doing more to popularize the game of golf around the world than anyone in his generation.” For the last 9 years of his life he was the Head Professional of the Stowe Country Club. June 26/28 Annual Stowe Garden Festival

Stunning gardens are a spectacular feature of summer in Stowe.
